This device is characterized by increased computing power and security, which allows you to manage the transfer of data between the on-board network of the machine’s electronic control unit using the auxiliary CAN bus. If you are still using MDI 1, you will need to purchase an OPEL/Vauxhall-VCI to match future PSA platform coverage models.
You can also continue to use the GM MDI2 device. The characteristics of the two systems are similar. However, the Opel/Vauxhall-VCI is the newest development and has FD-CAN support at higher programming speeds.
The OPEL/Vauxhall-VCI tool is also used for pass-through programming on all Opel/Vauxhall vehicles made after 1996.
